Lost package
USPS notified me today that they delivered a long awaited package at my front door but I never received it…at 8606 Stonewoods Lane. It was a gift for my granddaughter that was on back order for 2 months. If you happened to receive it I would appreciate it if you could please let me know and I will be happy to pick it up. Thank you!

Smoke detectors
Hi all, I need to replace my smoke detectors and am wondering if there is a specific type we’re supposed to use. There are so many out there and I initially bought some that don’t fit the housing of the current ones. What type should I be looking for? Thanks! 😊

Hi Mary,
Take one of the old ones down (unhooks off of the base). Take the old one to Home Depot Service Desk and tell them you need an associate to help you find the correct replacement unit. after you buy the new ones, call the non-emergency number for the fire dept. in the phone directory. They will install them for you for free..

Gas Bill
Hi everyone,
We just got our gas bill back for January and noticed it’s significantly more than our previous ones. Nothing changed on our end, so we were very shocked to see how much it went up. Just wondering if anyone else experienced this? Thanks!

Snow removal
I just wanted to say that for me the snow removal this past week has been amazing, especially when I look at some other complexes around here. Great job to the removal team!

I agree with Mary re: the great snow removal. I was awaken in the middle of the night to the noise of snow removal equipment and scraping shovels. When I awaken I was shocked as to how our mobility was enhanced, both for pedestrians as well as vehicles. Then a few days later we were covered with ice and the landscape team reappear to chip away the ice at my front door and the garage.
In my 9 years as a Villas of Riverbends resident, I have never experienced such great service. I wanted to send a large "tip" to the landscape company but Charles said he could not be a party to moving the funds, so I gave a smaller tip (directly) to the the 4 team ice removal group.
It seems strange that we residents cannot tip the company workers for good service as a group. I would like to have then back next year and tipping will be helpful in getting then back.

Shoveling
Does anybody have a youngster that would be interested in shoveling our driveway? Even though I park my car on 1 side of the driveway, I’m assuming they couldn’t fit a plow on the other side. I would pay, of course.😃

Community Facebook Page
Would there be any interest in a community Facebook page? I know there is currently a page that is inactive. I feel it is an excellent way to easily keep in touch daily with what is going on in the community. I am willing to set up and moderate a new page if there would be interest. It would be a private page for those in the community only. Let me know your thoughts.

If there is to be a community Facebook page, I highly recommend is be a private page for just our residents. I also recommend that it be controlled by an administrator who can monitor content before it gets published. Some people use this platform to allow their evil alter-ego to surface, which usually ends badly.

Home improvement, handyman recommended
I recently did a complete remodel in my bathroom and additionally laminate flooring in my kitchen. After conferring with several contractors I decided to contact Jack Bartholomew of Bartholomew Services whom I used for over 10 years for smaller updating projects and handyman jobs to see if this complete remodel was something he had done before. He had and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Jack is very detailed oriented, always respectful of your home while working, and does amazing work. I am very type A and he didn’t let me down.
